April 02:Work camp for the seminary construction by the first year philosophy students ended.

May 25:Rev. Frs Paul Maroky, Jaison Koonamplakkal and Anto Cheranthuruthy assumed the offices of Spiritual Father, Dean of Studies and Lecturer respectively.

May 29:The senior students are back home after the summer vacation.

June 01:The new batch of 26 (18 Residential + 8 day Scholars) students arrived. Mar Jacob Thookmkuzhy blessed the new Refectory cum Kitchen block and celebrated the opening Holy Mass at 04.00 p.m.

June 02-04:Opening Recollection: Rev. Frs Jose Konikkaara ( Jr) and Andrews Kuttikatt preached fro the first year philosophy students and the rest of the community respectively.

June 05:Inaugurating the Scholastic activities for the first semester Rt Rev. Msgr Joseph Kakkassery, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Trichur, celebrated the Holy mass. Orientation Programme (June 05-09) for the first year philosophy students conducted by Mr Thomas Mathew and team commenced.

June 08: Rev. Fr Zacharias Pazheparambil, S.J., addressed the community and shared his missionary experience at Kenya ( Africa).

June 10:Mar Abraham Mattom (Bishop Emeritus, Satna) visited the seminary.

June 11:The feast of the Pentecost was celebrated with midnight Mass.

June 22:The seminary community endowed in the sad demise of Most re. Dr Alan de Lastic, Archbishop of Delhi and President of CBCI.

June 30:The feast of the Sacred Heart - Day of Adoration.

July 02:Monthly Recollection - Rev. Fr Paul Maroky.

July 03:Rev. Dr Jose Thachil celebrated Solemn Holy Qurbana on the feast of ' Dukrana'. Mr Paravoor George inaugurated the activities of English and Malayalam academies.

July 09: Mar Paul Chittilappilly celebrated the Holy Qurbana and later shared his experience as the bishop of Thamarassery.

July 10:Mar Joseph Pastor Neelankavil, Bishop of Sagar, visited the seminary.

July 13:The Jesus Youth 'Full Timers' (30 youngsters) shared their experiences of being totally committed to Jesus among the university students.

July 25:solemnities of the Archibishop's Day. Marymatha computer centre (MCC) was blessed and inaugurated by mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy.

July 28:Third year philosophy students celebrated the feast of Bl. Alphonsa, the heavenly patroness of their group.

July 29 : Msgr Francis J. Duffy (parish priest of St. Margaret Church, Morristown, New Jersey, USA) reached the seminary to spend some days with the community.

July 30:The two CMI brothers of the seminary community renewed their religious vows in the presence of V. Rev Fr Sebastian Athrappilly, CMI, their provincial superior.

August 04:Solemnities of the feast of St. John Marie Vianney. Rt Rev. Msgr Sebastian Kanjirakkattukunnel, Vicar General, Diocese of Thamarassery   was the guest of honor.

August 06:The first year philosophy students went in pilgrimage to St. Vianney Church, Manamangalam. The seminary community also joined St. Patrick's parish community, Mulayam for the feast of St. John Marie Vianney.

August 08:Our brothers joined the parishioners in rendering manual labor for the construction of St. Patrick's church, Mulayam.

August 12:Monthly Recollection - Rev. Fr Raphael Muthupeedika.

August 15:V. Rev. Fr Andrews Thazhath, Rector, Dolours' Basilica, Thrissur administered the ceremonies held in connection with the feast of the Assumption of Bl. Virgin Mary and the Independence Day. Mr. Mahesh Kumar Singla IPS, DIG, Central Zone, presided over the solemn academy of the day and released the ' Marymatha Annual 2000'.

September 03:Monthly Recollection - Prof. K. M. Francis. A team of brothers gave hair dressing to the patients in the Government Mental Hostpital, Trichur.

September 04:Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma IAS, District Collector of Trichur, visited the seminary and enlightened the community on the value of life and the need to take collective endeavors to protect and respect life.

September 08:The feast of the Nativity of our Lady was celebrated as college day. Archbishop Stephen Fumio Hamao President, Pontifical Council for the pastoral care of migrants and itinerant people was the guest of honor.

September 09:The seminary family took active part in the blessing ceremonies of the newly constructed parish church at Mulayam. The first year philosophy students organized Kalasandhya in connection with Onam.

September 10:Onam was celebrated with all traditional solemnities. Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy joined the community fro ' Onasadhya'.

September 13:Mar Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Bishop of Belthangady visited the seminary and spent some time with the seminary community.

September 16: ' Onolsav 2000' (friendly competitions held for the children of eth locality in connection with Onam) was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Raphel Thanissery, Director, Damien Institute, Mulayam. Mr. T. G. Kutty (Ex-serviceman ), gave away the prizes to the winners.

September 30: As a follow up to Sneholsav, 'Gloria 2000' (Catechism Students' Camp) was held at Valakkavu, Eravimangalam and Kozhukully parishes.

October 01:Monthly Recollection - Rev. Br Jose Chungath, MMB.

October 05:Rev. Fr Kurian Alex, CMI, shared his missionary experiences at the islands of Papua New Guinea ( Australia).

October 07-20:Study leave and examinations.

October 20:Rt Rev. Msgr. Joseph Aind, Bishop of Dibrugarh, ( Assam) celebrated Holy Mass in connection with the Mission Sunday observance and shared his missionary experiences. Students left for semester holidays.

October 30:Students returned after the first semester holidays.

October 31:Rev. Dr Sebastian Pynadath, S.J., inaugurated the staff-students seminary on the theme 'Popular Culture and Popular Religion'. Prof. Gopala Krishana Pillai presented a paper on "Popular Culture" and Prof. Krishnan Nair presented a paper on "Popular Religion". The students presented the consolidated report of a survey conducted among a selected group of people on the theme. Rev. Dr Vincent Kundukulam moderated the concluding session of the seminary. On the eve, Rosary Procession was held in conclusion to the month dedicated to the Mother of the Holy Rosary. Annual Retreat began. Rev. Fr Varghese Manavalan, Director, Renewal Centre, Ernakulam, preached the same.

November 05:Annual Retreat ended with the Holy Mass celebrated by Mar Vincent Samuel, Bishop of Neyyattinkara. The seminary family participated in the ' Sahasrabda Yuvajana Sammelanam' organized by K.C.Y.M at Thrissur.

November 06:Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Kakkassery celebrated Holy Mass and inaugurated the academic activities of the second semester.

November 12:A friendly basketball match between Justin Vocationay and Marymatha was played in Vocationary basketball court, Thalore.

November 17:Rev. Fr Thomas Meckadan, SDB, conducted three days orientation programme on youth animation.

November 18:Mar Thomas Chakkiath, Auxiliary bishop, Archdiocese of Ernakulam visited the seminary.

November 20:Mission Day is observed in the seminary. Mission fund collection is done through conducting auctions, shops, and various games.

November 30:The students conducted a social awareness programme, namely ' Sneha 2000', on AIDS and AIDS patients. The students, in three groups, went into twelve locations of Thrissur Corporation and conscientized the public through street play, speech, tableau, etc. Mr. Jose Kattukaran, Mayor, Thrissur Corporation, presided over the concluding meeting held at Jubilee Mission Hospital compound, Thrissur. The programme attracted large number of people at every location.

December 08:Home day. Archbishop Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy was the main celebrant for the solemn liturgy.

December 09:Archbishop Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy lighted the Kaladeepam and inaugurated the variety entertainments in connection with the homeday celebration. The programme included Rangapooja, Punjabi Dance, Orchestra and One act play. ' Pallippanam' - the one act play - composed and directed by Mr. C. L. Jose received wide appreciation.

December 13:Saptati celebration of Archbishop Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy was held in the seminary. Mar James Pazhayattil graced the celebration by his esteemed presence.

December 16-22:Study leave and examinations.

December 22:Celebrations in connection with Christmas.

December 23 :A team of Brothers visited Shehalaya (Home for the unwanted), Mundathikode to share with the inmates the joy and peace of Christmas. Christmas holidays began.

December 26-31:'Sneholsav 2000' at Vellakkarithadam parish.


January 03:Students returned after Christmas holidays.

January 04:Mar Joseph Pastor Neelankavil, Bishop of Sagar, visited the seminary and celebrated Holy Mass.

January 05: Pindikuthi Perunnal (Feast of Denha) was celebrated with traditional solemnities. Maha Jubilee was concluded with monthly recollection, holyu hour and mid-night Mass.

January 07:The feast of Bl. Chavara, patron of second year philosophy students was celebrated with vespers, shared meditation and Holy Mass.

January 08:New priests of the Archdiocese of Thrissur was accorded a warm welcome with solemn Holy Qurbana and Agape.

January 11:Mr. Jose Kattukaran, the first Mayor of Thrissur Corporation, visited the seminary and shared his concerns and views as the Mayor. On the occasion, Mayor gave away the prize to Br Joy Kidangan, which he has won in 'Logos Quiz - 2000'. Marymatha team (Br Sony Manjaly & Br Martin Sankoorikal) obtained 3 rd prize in All Kerala Major Semianry Quiz competition conducted by St. Joseph Ponitifical Seminary, Aluva.

January 13:One day picnic.

January 18:Rev. Frs Roy Mookken and Anto Cheranthuruthy joined the residential staff of Marymatha. Sr. Elsy Vadakkan, SND, who was transferred to the Pastoral Centre, Palkkad, was given farewell.

January 19: Sr. Cicily Cheenappilly, SND took over the office of Sr. Elsy Vadakkan, SND.

January 26: Rev. Fr Pual Pulikottil officiated the solemn Divine Liturgy and hoisted the national flag in connection with the Republic day celebration. A cricket match was held between KCYM unit, St. Patrick's parish, Mulayam and Marymatha. V. Rev. Fr George Edakalathur presided over the public meeting. The one act play, Ahriman, composed, directed and staged by the brothers received good appreciation.

January 29: First year philosophy students celebrated the feast of Bl. Mariam Thresia, the patroness of the group.

February 03: Monthly Recollection - Rev. Fr Martin Kolambrathu. Mr. Thomas Varghese, Programme Director of CNEWA visited the seminary.

February 04: The seminary community joined the parish feast celebrations of St. Patrick's church, Mulayam.

February 09:Third year philosophy students visited the ' Juma-et-e-Islami' mosque in Thrissur in connection with a course on Islamic philosophy. Classes for the third year philosophy students ended.

February 10: Study leave and examinations (February 10-16) for the third year philosophy students. Mar George Valiyamattom, Archbishop of Thalassery visited the seminary. Br Praveen Aranjaniolickel has won a consolation prize in All Kerala Essay Competition conducted by Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune.

February 16: A meeting of the local representatives of Nadathara Gramma Panchayath was held in the seminary to plan out the implementation of a Community Aid Sponsorship Programme in collaboration with Rajagiri College, Kalamassery, and Marymatha Major Seminary, Mulayam.

February 20:The third year philosophy students began intensive preparation for the comprehensive examinations.

February 22:Prof. Siddhique Hassan, Kerala Ameer of ' Jama-et-e-Islami', visited the seminary and addressed the seminary community.

February 24:Parents' day of the first year philosophy students was celebrated with a concelebrated Holy Mass, Agape and family gathering.

February 28:Social and Economic survey in view of Community Aid Sponsorship Programme in Ward III of Nadathara Gramma Panchayath.
